Spatial Externalities of Income Inequality on Security in Latin America

The aim of this research is to analyse the effect income inequality on homicide rate. study carried out in 18 Latin American countries for period 2005–2018. methodology used Generalized Least Squares (GLS) model and data were obtained from World Development Indicators, Health Organization Inter-American Bank. Thus, dependent variable rate independent inequality. In addition, some control variables are included, such as: poverty, urban population rate, unemployment, schooling spending security GDP per capita, which improve consistency model. results through GLS determine that has a negative significant high-income (HIC) lower-middle-income (LMIC), whereas it positive upper-middle-income (UMIC). On other hand, show different by group countries. case not any Negative spatial dependence was found regarding models lag (SAR) error (SEM) method. Durbin (SDM), between corroborated. However, auto-regressive moving average (SARMA) identified no dependence. Under these proposed: productivity, education efficiency security-oriented resources.
